Becoming a Member
New Life Begins with Baptism!
St Paul baptizes both infants and adults. For more information check out our Baptism page HERE.
Membership by Adult Instruction
Adult Catechesis (instruction) classes are held as needed throughout the year at St Paul. The class is called an Inquirer's Class because the basics of the Lutheran faith are presented for information, but no commitment to join is required. The classes are free and meet once a week for six consecutive weeks. Each class lasts about an hour and a half and they are planned around the participants' schedules. All materials are provided and light reading assignments from Luther's Small Catechism are the only requirement. Upon completion of the class, students may be baptized (if necessary), confirmed, and welcomed into membership. If you are interested in being a part of the next class, contact the church office or ask the Pastor for more information.
Membership by Child Confirmation
At St Paul, children are enrolled in confirmation classes beginning in 6th grade. After two years of instruction (classes meet Sundays for an hour and half immediately following services) the students are examined before parents and leaders of the church and are then confirmed at the 10:00a.m. service on Palm Sunday.
Becoming a Member by Transfer
Baptized and confirmed members in good standing of other LC-MS congregations who desire to join St Paul, should first speak with their home pastor to request a transfer. When the records are received by St Paul, membership is approved by the Church Council and then the voters of the congegation at the next scheduled meeting.
